I have begun working on a new series of forms relating to the idea of a wave, flow of water, or air. By making these vertical, I am referencing the idea of water moving back up into atmosphere.
More imagery of a wave allows the eye to extrapolate the curves into a larger context from the base to past the highest point.
By marrying the steel with the glass, I’m using it in a more plastic way so it seems to become a fluid material and the two materials work closely together. The steel frames holds the glass form, yet also conveys strength and power that can be contained in moving water. The relief detailing on the glass lead to the idea of the biologic diversity in the water column.
A base of beach stones connects to a larger environmental idea. I want these water forms to look as though they are growing from the earth.
